About Accredited Bookkeeping Systems

Our Beginnings

Established in Alstonville in Northern NSW in early 2001, originally under the guise of Alstonville Bookkeeping Services, Accredited Bookkeeping Systems (ABS) grew rapidly and has now expanded its operations into Queensland and Tasmania, allowing us to deliver quality bookkeeping services to our clients in 3 states.

The Australian Bookkeepers Network

From inception, ABS has operated under the guidance of the Australian Bookkeepers Network (ABN), a body formed to provide support andinformation to the bookkeeping industry with the aim of lifting standards in an industry which was previously unsupported and unregulated. ABS holds the honour of being member number 1 of the ABN as we became their first ever member in February 2001. Over the years ABN has provided invaluable support and has assisted us to provide first class bookkeeping and BAS services to our clients and to comply with all facets of legislation governing the industry. To date we have assisted approximately 70 small businesses and non-profit organisations in varying degrees, both with MYOB and Quickbooks.  More information on the Australian Bookkeepers Network and the valuable role it plays in the industry can be found at www.austbook.net.

A Changing Industry

Major changes to legislation governing the bookkeeping industry came into effect on 1 March 2010 requiring that a bookkeeper providing BAS services to their clients must be registered with the Tax Practitioners Board as a Registered BAS Agent. Accredited Bookkeeping Systems has met all the requirements set down by the TPB and has been granted registration, thus allowing us to continue to offer quality BAS services to small business. More information on legislation governing the industry can be found at www.tpb.gov.au .

MYOB & Quickbooks

As MYOB Professional Partners we offer MYOB product sales and support. Quickbooks services are also available in most areas.

Insurance

Accredited Bookkeeping Systems holds a Combined Professional Indemnity and General Liability policy underwritten by Lloyd's.

Payment Options

We also offer a range of payment options including BPay by credit card which can be helpful to clients juggling their cashflow at BAS time. Of course debit card, direct debit and cheque are also optional payment methods.
